Christmas Glitter

Hello hello!

So there's like 18 days until Christmas!! Who's excited?? MEE!!!!

I'm no where near done with my Christmas shopping, but I have an idea of what i'm getting everyone so that's a good thing. I've been thinking what kind of Christmas nails do I want before Christmas and what design do I want on Christmas Eve/Day :)

No idea!! Lol! But as far as today, I have a simple glitter mani :D In Christmas colors of course!

 I love the nude under the red and green glitters :D Its only one coat of each glitter, I didn't want to cram pack glitter and then get lumpy nails that chip super quick.

 The Green is a polish and the red is glitter I bought at a craft store, It seems I cannot find the perfect red glitter polish anywhere. Every red glitter polish I buy has either silver pieces in it, or not chunky enough for my liking or has a red tint to it (the clear) or the glitters are too itty bitty :(

Also, I dont know what was so bubbly, It was either the green glitter polish had a lot of bubbles or my topcoat.. I took a look at both of them and they look non-bubbly but who knows whats going on. So I'll keep it short tonight, But I hope to be inspired again tomorrow or Friday. I assume Friday, tomorrow is my busy day plus I was invited to a hair/fashion show tomorrow by my cousin :) She goes to Tricoci beauty school and they're having a Winter Show :) So I won't get home until a little late and since I'm starting my day super early tomorrow taking my other cousin to his appointment I'll be super tired and not nail inspired at all.

And now that I look at the pictures I don't think these nails have been done justice. This glitter is super shiny and glittery, Ahhhh! I hate when that happens!!!

Its December!! YAY!! I'm late.. lol.

Hey ladies :D

Not sure If I mentioned this last time, but I got a job :D In retail. Kind of rough on the nails :(
Didn't think it was possible but it is. So on the first of December I hurried and painted my nails before work. Which we all know is not a good idea. Rushing and nail polish do not go together. What came out of it was ugly sloppy candy cane stripes mess, and I was pretty ashamed of them :( And surprisingly enough people still complimented them lol. Doubly embarrassing!!! LMAO!

So at the end of this post if I have the guts i'll post the picture I took (I took it to remind myself not to rush next time)

So anyway for today I thought I might give the snowflake mani a go :) Since it hasn't snowed here yet, which sucks :( Its actually kind of been unseasonably warm. So me and my fingers are gonna do the snow dance and hope for snow :D

Here's my stamped hand (Right Hand) I used Bundle Monster plate BM14 

Not very impressive, since its a stamp mani lol. I can never get them to look good. I can't

make multiple stamps look right or fit, some people get 3-4 stamps on one nail, and their nails

don't look very much longer than mine. What the F? I don't get it.

Here are my freehand snowflakes. Now these guys are kind of ugly and clumsy looking but I love them!! Oh, and look away from the thumb, I had a topcoat mishap, I smeared the white polish because I kinda brushed on the topcoat a little too hard (wanting to be done and take pics)

Also, I've been working on something :) I found this really awesome store while wandering around town a few weeks ago. Its a beauty shop it says, but its mostly nail polish and nail related things. Walls and walls of polish!! I was so happy when I stumbled upon it. So I bought some glitter, mostly purple and black (my two favorite colors) And I've been experimenting with them. Also some empty polish bottles. Can you guys guess what i'm doing?? Lol! Yup, mixing and testing and letting them sit. I'm not trying to go pro at it, just mixing glitters for fun. I was reading on how some of the indie polish ladies make their polish and all the "curing" and it sounds fun but expensive and very time consuming. So I'll leave the wonderful art of mixing glitters to them, I'll just mess around for fun :) Its something I would like to learn but I have no time right now :(

But like I was saying, I want to mix a few glitters for a friend of mine, kind of like a Christmas gift :) Since purple and black are her favorite colors too :)

I took some pictures of my shenanigans. But not a pic of the mess I made with the glitter lol.

I think the polish looks nice, but the color of the black glitter bled a little and made the clear coat a bit dark. I have to check it again and see if it made it any darker. Its been sitting in a drawer for 2 weeks, I mix it up a bit every few days. It looks the same but we'll see. 

So this polish consists of chunky hex shaped purple glitter and then smaller hex purple glitter mixed with small hex shaped black glitter. You can kind of see it on the nail wheel along with some other things I was working on. I only took one pictures of the glitter on my nails, and it was horribly out of focus, and I'm not sure why I took only one but I did, I must have gotten distracted and started doing something else.

Sorry for the blurryness, but this is after one coat of the glitter mixture. After this I added more black glitter, which I found to be really hard to mix in after everything was already in there. Alas It mixed well enough, and I did end up using the new mixture on my other hand, it was slightly darker but very beautiful. I'll test this tomorrow on the nail wheel and let you guys see how its worked out.

Ok, I might as well suck it up and post my hideous candy cane stripe mani.

Looking for Inspiration

Hey guys :)

So i'm not saying i'm back this time, I think I said it a few times before and I feel super guilty when I say i'm back and disappear again.

I have been in a slump, a lazy, I dont wanna do nothin' type of slump! After Halloween there was some massive clean up that needed to be done. I had paints, brushes, newspapers, boxes, more paints, urethanes, stains, candy (YES TONS OF IT) costumes, and much more Halloween stuff lying around. So I slowly got rid of it, I had to rent a monthly storage to put away my Halloween stuff because there is no way its going to fit anywhere in this house.

Yup, so like I said I've been lazy, just kind of silently stalking all the nail pages lol. And I've seen a lot of Indie Holiday polishes and I'm getting excited!!! My fiance has been listening to Christmas music secretly (Kind of) and I still think its a bit too early for that, but not too early to shop, and plan some Christmas nails!!! I know, I'm crazy!!

So I saw a few jelly looking polishes that were candy cane like and what not, but I saw one particular one that I fell in love with, I saw it on Chalkboard Nails' Page Its a glitter topper and its red and green and so very very perfect!! So I haven't bought it yet, but I needed to satisfy my craving for glitter!! Not to mention a reason to get my butt back on here!

So without further ado, here's what I did.

Now that I look at my picture, I realized I need more light, or a better angle. Ok, I gotta work on that.

So I used:
Finger Paints Paper Mache
Funky Fingers Confetti
I diluted the same Finger Paints white with some polish thinner to sandwich the glitter and voila!!

OMG! I'm Back!!!

Hey Ladies :) I'm back!! Yay!!! I know i've been gone way to long, and I'm really sorry. I have been working so hard on my haunt for this year. I have spent so much time and money on this project that I cannot just let it fail. I want to hear kids scream their little heads off this year :D Lol and adults too!

Ok, well here's what I got for your guys today.

I gotta get back into my nails. But working outside I was bound to break some nails. Which I did, I have banged up, stubbed, broken, chipped and completely messed up my nails. Especially the right hand.  AHH!! Halloween sure is scary!! Lol.

Ok, I promise to come back soon. The closer we get to Halloween the more frantic I get, I have been working on one particular project for over a month. Its a grave busing coffin with way too many paper mache "wood" boards, and a skeleton that refuses to not break at the spine.

 This is the guy giving me hell.... I'm having spine issues, mostly because I used cans and I should have probably used something better. His top half is heavy and I didn't take that into account when I made his spine. Lol.

 My witch, I love her!! She's holding up the best :) I added a cauldron. Which on Halloween will be lit up.

 Some of our tombstones, I think total we made 10 foam tombstones :) My fiance made the little ones, I think his look the realest :) the most real? I dunno lol.

My friend made these. He's the best, he's been helping me throughout this whole project :)

Quick Update

Hey Guys :) I'm so super sorry I've been away! I have been so busy working on my projects. I feel like I'm in the Nightmare Before Christmas, lol. I've been counting down the days until Halloween

Yup!!! Who's excited??

But I really want to decorate on the 1st of October!! So that means I have to have a lot of my props done. At least the ones that are going on the front lawn. I have missed so many days in the 31 Day Challenge :( I'm hoping to make all those mani's up some time soon!!

The 31 Day Challenge Day 10 Gradient Nails and Halloween Prop Update

Hey guys,
I missed it again!!!! Lol, I was putting my logo on the pic and all of a sudden it was 11:58 and I hurried and the collection closed :(

Ok enough feeling sorry for myself. I got today's challenge done before midnight, just not the picture done on time. GRR!!

Let's get down to business.

Now If I misspelled something please don't be mad. I've been inhaling fumes all day. I've been painting my Halloween Props with crazy paints and I was hurring trying to put the logo in there and I typed everything as fast I can go!!

Also I'm kind of embarrassed for that fact that only one of my hands is polished :(
I has to scrub like a mad woman to get the paint off my picture hand. And because I use my right hand It had way more paint on it, some of which I cannot get out from under my fingernails or my cuticles..Also its on one nail pretty bad...

OOh! And I chipped 2 nails both thumbs. I guess you guys can expect really short nails for the next two months... Because I can see it happening more and more as it get's closer to Halloween.I'm doing most of the prop making with the help of friends here and there.. My fiance just watches me, He has no creative bone in his body he says, although, I think he's lying. He just doesn't want to help me when I get in a crafty moods... So I use him as my muscle!! LOL!!

The 31 Day Challenge Days 5-8 catch up!!

Hey :)

Omg, I'm so sorry I've been MIA :o
I really got into my projects and time just flew by!! I have been elbow deep in papier mache, messy stuff I tell ya'! I've mentioned before how I want to have a haunted yard for Halloween, and how I want to make all my props. So far I have a tombstone, a witches head a 2 pumpkins and a skull. Ok enough about my other time consuming hobby, lets get down to business.

I kind of cheated on day 5 + 6 but only because I thought I would catch up lol.

The 31 Day Challenge Day 4 Green Nails

Hey ladies!!!
I'm not sure if i've mentioned this.. But I love glitter!! and I love green!! So when It came to todays challenge, . I found it a bit tough. A lot of my polishes are green, or greenish so I had no idea what I wanted to use or what to do with it. I originally wanted to do a glow in the dark mani, but I don't have glow in the dark polish but had glow int he dark paint, so I tried it and it didn't work out like I planned, so then I wanted to do a money mani, then I decided it would take too long, so I took out one of my chunky green glitters, I thought I would go for simple tonight because I really want to continue with my Halloween project and continue the witches face. So because I always forget that these glitters take forever to dry, I layered it on thick!! I've been waiting an hour and a half for it to fully dry!!!! Its still jelly feeling. But whatever, I took the pic and its done!!!

Yea, this picture does not do that glitter any justice. It is waaaay more intense IRL! And the base coat looks yellow here, AAHHHHH!!!! I'm going to strangle this phone!! Lol. Nothing about this is good!

I plan on doing my Teal Tuesday challenge later on today. Its kind of good that I'm not 100% In love with this mani, It'll be easier to take the cotton pad with acetone to it!!

Ok, so let the orange-y-ness commence!! If you've seen a lot of orange around its because of the 31 day challenge!! I was really lazy and didn't want to do it, but I saw all the orange and remembered my orange holo I hadn't tried out yet.

It doesn't look so holo-y :( But when its a dollar polish, I guess you can't expect it to be, lol.

The 31 Day Challenge + Life.

Hey Guys :)
So I got a few things to talk about today. First I'd like to say that I'm joining Sarah from Chalkboard Nails in and some other nail bloggers in a 31 day. Its perfect timing too, because for the next few months i'm going to be super busy. Why you ask? Because Halloween is coming up and I plan on spooking up my yard, and I don't mean go with store bought things, I mean going all out and making my own props. This week alone I've worked on several things, that include 3 pumpkins and a nice sized tombstone. They are all papier mached, and plastered. I have to go buy latex paint and other paints that will seal everything in.

Here's my first pumkin.

Also, this is the reason why I missed Teal Tuesday :( I was out buying tons of glue and plaster, not to mention dumpster diving for cardboard and other recyclables.

Ok, So here's The 31 Day Challenge.

So for the first 7 days everything is pretty simple then It gets a bit tougher and then BAM!! Tons of thinking, lol!! But the hardest thing for me maybe will be posting every day. Lets see how

Here's Day 1.

Also I tried a new product (well, new to me)
I used Orly Spritz Dry, and I'm not too happy with it. It didn't help dry anything. :( My friend, in cosmetology school, told me she uses an O.P.I dry spray and that It works amazingly well, and I thought they all gotta be the same, I guess not. Any thoughts??

Pretty in Pink + Gold

Hey again :)

What a lazy Sunday! Its been raining all day :( So for today's mani I have used Pinterest as my inspiration. I found this lovely pink white and gold mani that reminded me of a beautiful summer day, and seeing as how summer is leaving us, I figured it could pick me up even though the weather is crappy.

Ok, here's what I have for you guys today.

The picture does not do it justice. The pink is prettier in person. It looks kind of salmony in this pic, which isn't what it looks like IRL. I hate when that happens, I might have to invest on a better camera, right now i'm using my phone. I have the Samsung Galaxy III, which does take some really nice pictures, but some colors are not as vibrant, and some come out way too vibrant lol.

Oh, and also I've made a new banner, I like it a lot. But I'm still working on other Idea's.

The Van Halen

Hey again :D

I finally got my first indie!!! I bought it with my copious credit :D and only paid $1.50 OOP. How great is that. I've been wanting to get an indie polish for a while, and now that I have, I think I will continue to.

I saw all those girls with the black and white glitters and I was so envious!! Now I have my own and I'm in LOVE, and still envious because they got to experience it first, lmao!! :P

Anyway, my fiance saw them and right away said that looks like Eddie Van Halen's guitar, then he showed me a picture and I totally agree!! So I will call these The Van Halens!! Take a look!!

How awesome is that??

Ok, so this polish is not finicky like I thought it would be, I thought, "So much glitter for sure is going to be a mess to work with!!" And nope, super easy to apply, and while it did leave some tiny little bubbles :( It'll be ok, because they are microscopic and I like looking at them, as long as its not a million. Just one here and there, probably from shipping and what not. So in a few days once its been settling down in the helmer I will see if they've disappeared. Anyway, I could not be happier with this polish 10/10 from me!!

The red polish is by Essie, and I do not know the name, Its one of those things where the sticker comes off and I didn't swatch so no name anywhere. I really do need to go to Ulta and see if they have it. I love this Red polish by Essie, I must find out its name!!!
