Splatter Mani and Yaaaard Sale finds.

Hey guys :)
Its been a little over a week since I've posted :( I did two mani's but I didn't like the results and refused to show you guys lol. I was still reading everyone's blogs and youtube video tutorials :D and came across splatter mani's. I saw one last year and didn't want to give it a try because it looked messy. I gave in to the messy and colorful mani. So I covered my workspace with tons of newspaper and went to town!

Excuse the background, I was outside feeding a squirrel on my balcony and when she hid I took advantage of the natural soft light.

So this was so much fun, I can't believe I had not tried it before. I added some nail stickers in some places where I kind of messed up lol. I do have a complaint, I have the hardest time with white nail polish, I'm using Finger Paints Paper Mache and It works nice for detailing, but as a base (covering the whole nail) it sucks :( I used 3 coats and it was a streaky mess. It flooded the cuticle, any recommendations?

Colors used:
Finger Paints Paper Mache (white)
China Glaze For Audrey (Blue)
Funky Fingers Riot (Purple)
Fresh Paint High Voltage (Pink)
China Glaze Tree Hugger (Green)
Orly Polishield (Top Coat)

Also I was a pirate today, I went yaaaaard sailing. Lol.
I found some awesome things, nail related things :D
Here's what I found.

Avon Matte Black as Night, I tried a little bit on my fiance's nail and the color was beautiful. I didn't want to swatch a bit on me, because I had a fresh mani, lol. Sorry Marc, and Thanks for trying it out :D lol.

Avon Nail Experts Vitamin C Cuticle Gel, I have never used anything for the cuticles so
lets see if this makes a difference.

Avon Nail Experts Instant Gel Cuticle Remover, once again, never tried any of this stuff,
I'm really excited to try it out. Kind of scared because it says don't leave it on longer than a
minute :o will it hurt or something??

And these awesome nail stickers/ nail gems. The lady who had these had a ton of them, and I should have bought more, but I don't like using stickers because I feel like a cheater :(

So for my little yard sale finds I paid $7.50

Now for the non-nail related awesomeness!!
My Aunt also had a yard sale among the neighborhood :) and I found this.
At first I just seen the brooch, and asked her how much, she said I could have it, then she showed me the bracelet, she told me to take it too but I fell in love, and I couldn't just take two things from her lol! In the end I gave her $13 for them. I asked her if she knew where she got them, she said a lady gave them to her and she didn't know where the original box was :( I'm not a fan of the gold look but what other color would a bee be? LMAO!!

My Julep Maven Box Arrived!!! Reviews!!

I got my Julep penny box :D
It contained 2 polishes - Julep Nicey and Julep Susie
Toe seperators and The Best Pedi Creme Ever.

So I tried the pink one first, and I loved it!! It was a beautiful creme bright pink color. Very Summery very flirty my favorite kind of pink.

This is two coats and no top coat, It was glossy and beautiful!! Easy to use no problems here.

But the other polish that came in the box.. Well, all I can say is, that its hard to capture the color of this polish in the bottle as well as on my nails :( Take a look.

To me it reminds me of toothpaste, lol. I guess because the color is described as mint green creme. I think this color will do well on top of other colors or as an accent color :D

So the pink gets a 5/5 and the green gets 2.5/5 :(

I can't wait until next month!! Nail Mail always excites me!!

Oh, and there's still time to get your Julep Maven Box for a Penny :D Click This Link to Get Yours!!

But don't forget your code
"SHAREONMAY"

So for tonights mani I chose a rainy day scene. The weather here has been a bit sad, Its been raining and cold and now foggy. I want sun, I want to sit outside with my dogs in my garden and get my garden gloves dirty :D I started off with a dark gray thumb and worked my way to bright sunny pinky.

Now that I think about it, I'll be sad when I look outside and sad when I look at my nails :P It's ok, can't be too sad when you use glitter, which was really kind of hard to capture in these pictures.
I'm a little disappointed with the pictures, I took around 50 pictures and still none captured the colors right. My lightbox isn't working :( Maybe I really will have to wait for real light in the mornings or afternoons. This sucks considering I am a night owl.

Polishes I used:
Base Coat - Essie Millionails
The Gray was a mixture of Pure Ice Kiss Me Here Mixed with a bit of Black NYC Black Lace Creme and Blue China Glaze For Audrey and a bit of white added for each nail beside it Finger Paints Paper Mache.
Then the Blue on the pinky is just China Glaze For Audrey
Finally the Sun is Sally Hansen Xtreme wear Mellow Yellow.

Blue Glitter Leopard Mani

I was feeling lazy today but I needed something new to look at. The previous mani lost its cherries, lol. I was doing some gardening today but not only that I was making art :D I found some awesome Moss Art pictures last year and decided it was time to try it out myself. Maybe I'll post the pic of my supposed mossy art project :D

Ok ok, enough about gardening and moss. Nail time. So like I said, I did a lazy mani, nothing flashy or too creative. I knew I wanted glitter and lots of it, and as always I can not get enough leopard print :D

It came out pretty ok, But I think I still prefer the freehand method :D Oh and also ignore my thumb nail, I totally nailed that one lol.

Ok, I already put away the polishes I used so from memory:
I used 2 different nail polishes as the base Sally Hansen HD Spectrum and Finger Paints Laugh My Art Off
The Black is Finger Paints Black Expressionism
and a new Topcoat I'm trying Orly Polishield 3-in-1

Ok, Now for my moss art :)

Hopefully in a few weeks it'll be a big lush green moss masterpiece :) We'll see. The first time I tried this the rain washed it away, but this time I got smarter. I bought water retention gel pellets, that should help :D But like I said. We'll see.

Ice Cream Mani

Good Morning :D
Do I have a treat for you guys!! I scream you scream we all scream for Ice Cream!!!!
I went to Claire's and found the cutest earrings ever. Ice Creams, Donuts, Cupcakes, Popsicle, Pop-tarts, Cotton Candy, Fudgesicles, and Sno-Cones!
So for the first time in a while It was warm in Chicago (yesterday) :D So I wore my Ice Cream earrings and decided to do my nails in the same fashion, Oh yea!! So without further delay, Ice Cream Bowl Mani's. (My nails weren't pointy or long enough to do cones, lol)

/\ Right Hand /\

/\ Left Hand /\

 The Earrings!!

I'm so excited about my nails, I used my Konad stamp for the cones, mostly because I'm really bad at drawing straight lines, so I'm glad I remembered that I had that pattern on a stamp, saved me a big headache.

Also I'm happy with the end result of the cones color, I had to mix colors and usually they end up looking cloudy/muddy and ugly. So that's a plus.

The Cherries are pearls that I bought at Hobby Lobby, I Just slapped some red polish on them :)

Polishes I used for this Mani:
The Cone Base KleanColor Cappuccino + Finger Nails Paper Mache
The Dark Brown on the cone is KleanColor Dark Brown
The Ice Cream brown is the KleanColor Cappuccino by itself
The green is Revlon Minted
The yellow is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow.
And the pink is Fresh Paint High Voltage
I also used Essie Matte About You on top of the cones to make it look realistic.
I used Konad Plate m57
